TripCheat
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 July 2026
TripCheat ("we", "us", "the app") helps you turn travel booking confirmations into a clean, organised itinerary. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with. We've tried to keep it plain and honest.
Who we are
TripCheat is operated by Sam Dalton. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at [email protected].
What we collect
- Your account details. When you sign in with Apple, we receive an identifier from Apple and, if you choose to share it, your email address. We use this to create and manage your account.
- Your forwarding email address. To let you forward booking confirmations to the app, we store the email address you verify for forwarding.
- The content of the bookings you send us. When you forward or share a booking confirmation, we process its contents — such as flight, hotel, train, and transfer details, dates, times, locations, and any names or reference numbers contained in that confirmation — in order to build your itinerary.
- Your itinerary data. The trips, timelines, and items you create or edit in the app.
- Basic technical information needed to operate the service reliably.
How we use your data
- To build and maintain your itineraries from the bookings you send.
- To provide app features such as calculating travel times and finding scheduled train services.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
- To manage your subscription.
Who we share it with
To provide the app's features, we use trusted third-party services. We share only the data needed for each service to do its job:
- AI processing (OpenAI). To read and structure your forwarded booking confirmations into an itinerary, and to look up the approximate coordinates of places in your trips, the relevant text is sent to OpenAI's API for processing.
- Routing (Google). To calculate driving and train times and find scheduled services, relevant location and journey information (such as start and end coordinates) is sent to Google's routing service.
- Apple. Sign-in and subscription payments are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's privacy policy.
- Infrastructure (Cloudflare). Your data is stored and processed on Cloudflare's infrastructure, and inbound forwarded emails are received through Cloudflare's email routing.
- Email delivery (Resend). We use Resend to send you service emails such as verification messages.
We do not use any advertising, analytics, or tracking services. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Some of the third-party services above may process data in other countries; where they do, they are responsible for handling it in line with their own privacy commitments.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and itinerary data for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see below).
Your choices and rights
- Access and deletion. You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and associated data, by emailing [email protected]. We will action deletion requests promptly.
- Forwarded content. Only forward bookings you're comfortable having processed as described above.
- Managing your subscription. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple App Store account settings.
Children
TripCheat is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a revised "last updated" date.
